Technical Surface Finishes

At Ineo, we believe the finish defines the quality of the final project. We specialize in high-precision surface treatments, achieving a realistic, professional look for every component that guarantees both the aesthetic success and the long-term durability of your products

What are surface finishes?

Surface finishes are treatments applied to the surface of a material to improve its appearance, texture, functionality or resistance, adapting it to specific aesthetic or technical requirements.

The finishing processes are intended to ensure that the surfaces of the products meet the needs required by our customers in terms of appearance, texture and final behaviour for which they have been designed.

Nowadays the quality standards are increasingly demanding. For this reason, the finishes have become a first-line production process, since they make a difference in the final appearance of the pieces.

At Ineo we are specialists in a wide variety of finishes. We also have a human team with extensive experience in the sector and the most appropriate materials and tools to obtain the results that the client needs.

At Ineo, we turn the finish into a strategic asset for your project. We ensure every surface detail enhances your brand identity, guaranteeing that the final result not only meets your technical specifications but also stands out for its visual quality and tactile excellence.

Do you need your prototype to be indistinguishable from a production piece for your next presentation? Do you want to elevate the perceived value of your final pieces with a professional finish?

Recommendations

Surface finishing improves the aesthetics of printed parts, offers additional protection against wear, allows customization and adaptability in design, and optimizes the functionality and durability of parts.

Recommended use for some of the surface finishes we offer:

  • Sandblast: It is ideal for pieces that require an industrial finish.

  • Polished: For parts that require a smooth and uniform surface.

  • Dye: Suitable option for quickly colouring large batches of small parts

  • Matt Painted: For more elegant looking pieces, the matte finish offers a smooth, shine-free surface.

  • High Gloss Paint: Provides a smooth, reflective surface that highlights the design and details of the part, perfect for applications requiring a high-quality appearance.

  • Varnished: Adds a clear protective layer over the surface of the part, providing greater resistance to wear, corrosion, and UV damage. In addition, it enhances the colour and shine of the piece, offering a more professional and durable finish.

  • Metallic finish: It offers a shiny, metallic appearance to printed parts, imitating the look and feel of real metal, with a choice of electrolytic nickel/chrome plating, high vacuum metallization, and metallic-look paint.

Additive manufacturing technologies available at Ineo

Delivery Times in Spain:

Surface finishes improve the appearance, functionality, or durability of parts and include processes such as painting, anodizing, polishing, sandblasting, chrome plating, powder coating, among others. Each technique requires specific lead times depending on the materials and customer requirements.

Delivery time will depend on the type of finish required, the volume of parts, and whether the surface needs preparation or treatment before the final process.

Factors that affect lead times for surface finishes:

  • Type of finish (decorative, functional, or technical)
  • Base material of the part
  • Quantity of parts to be processed
  • Size and geometry
  • Preliminary preparation (cleaning, deburring)
  • Curing or drying time (if applicable)

Under normal conditions, applying surface finishes may add between 2 and 7 additional business days to the manufacturing process. Simple finishes such as polishing or sandblasting may be ready in 1 to 2 working days, while more complex processes like anodizing or paint with curing may require additional time.

If the finish must meet a specific technical or aesthetic specification, an initial sample or validation may be required before starting the full batch, which can slightly extend the final delivery time. For projects with tight deadlines, we can evaluate express options or prioritization depending on workload and process availability.

We will be able to provide an accurate estimate once we know the project details and the desired finish.

Deliveries to Canary Islands, Balearics, Ceuta & Melilla:

Shipments to these regions may require 1-5 additional business days due to logistics and (for Canary Islands) customs processing.

International Deliveries:

Orders outside Spain require extended lead times. Additional delivery time varies by destination country and local logistics/customs factors.

For precise international delivery estimates, contact our customer service team.
